How to itemise Arlott and, more importantly, why each item earns its slot.

Overview

Why this build works on Arlott

Arlott relies heavily on spamming Vengeance whenever targets are Marked by Demon Gaze, Dauntless Strike, or Final Slash. Because Vengeance resets its cooldown and heals Arlott when striking Marked enemies, his gameplay demands a balance of burst damage, sustain, physical penetration, and defense to survive extended skirmishes. This build addresses Arlott's vulnerability during deep charges by pairing defensive powerhouses like Warrior Boots, Brute Force Breastplate, and Oracle with high-damage items like Endless Battle, Blade of Despair, and Malefic Roar. This setup amplifies his true damage potential, maximizes HP restoration from Vengeance, and ensures he remains resilient while constantly repositioning and controlling teamfights on the EXP Lane.

Build order

  1. 1 Warrior Boots
  2. 2 Endless Battle
  3. 3 Brute Force Breastplate
  4. 4 Blade of Despair
  5. 5 Malefic Roar
  6. 6 Oracle

Item by item

Arlott must trade aggressively early in the EXP Lane to establish lane dominance and secure Marks. Warrior Boots grant essential early Physical Defense that reduces incoming damage from physical laners while trading blows. By mitigating damage taken during initial engagements, Arlott can safely weave in Dauntless Strike and follow up with Vengeance charges without being prematurely forced out of lane or punished during early Turtle contests.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Valor: Gain 4 extra Physical Defense for 3s when taking Physical Damage, up to 20.

Endless Battle is Arlott's primary core power spike because his kit involves constant skill casts followed by Basic Attacks. Every time he resets Vengeance or casts Dauntless Strike, Divine Justice empowers his next Basic Attack with extra True Damage. Additionally, the extra sustain and mana sustain synergize directly with Vengeance, boosting Arlott's HP recovery during sustained duels and allowing him to continuously harass opponents without running out of resources.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Divine Justice: After casting a skill, the next Basic Attack within 3s deals 60% Physical Attack as extra True Damage (1.5s cooldown).

As Arlott continuously cycles Vengeance charges and hits enemies with Final Slash, Brute Force Breastplate steadily builds stacks that increase his Physical Attack, Movement Speed, and Control Duration Reduction. The extra mobility allows him to stick to agile targets, while the crowd control resistance ensures he is less likely to be interrupted mid-combo, keeping his fluid charge-and-slash playstyle active during heavy skirmishes.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Brute Force: Each second after dealing damage, gain 6 extra Physical Attack and Magic Power and 2% extra Movement Speed for 4s, up to 6 stacks. Gain 15% extra Control Duration Reduction at full stacks.

Blade of Despair drastically boosts Arlott's Physical Attack, directly increasing the damage and HP restoration scaling on Vengeance, as well as the damage on Dauntless Strike and Final Slash. Its passive triggers extra damage against low-health enemies, allowing Arlott to execute weakened backline targets instantly when initiating fights with Final Slash or chaining multiple Vengeance resets onto Marked enemies.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Despair: Dealing damage to non-Minion enemies below 50% HP increases Physical Attack by 25% for 2s (takes effect before the damage is dealt).

Late in the game, enemy tanks and fighters build heavy armor to reduce Arlott's burst damage. Malefic Roar scales his Physical Penetration based on the enemy's Physical Defense, ensuring that Vengeance and Final Slash continue to deal massive damage through high-armor targets. Completing this item transforms Arlott from a squishy-hunter into a formidable threat against frontlines, allowing his Mark-consumption combo to melt durable targets.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Armor Buster: When attacking an enemy, gains 0.125% extra Physical Penetration for each point of the enemy's Physical Defense, capped at 40%.

Oracle

Situational

Oracle directly enhances Arlott's survival by boosting the HP restoration from Vengeance via its Bless passive. Since Vengeance heals Arlott upon hitting a Marked target, Oracle amplifies this healing effect significantly, allowing him to sustain through massive focus fire. Furthermore, it provides Magic Defense to guard against burst mages, rounding out his durability in late-game teamfights around the Lord.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Bless: Received Shield and HP Regen effects are increased by 30%.

Adapting the build

No build survives every draft. These are the situations where the order above should change.

Against heavy physical damage in the early lane

Prioritize finishing Warrior Boots immediately before building Endless Battle components. This grants early physical resilience, allowing Arlott to sustain through aggressive trades from enemy physical fighters while setting up Demon Gaze marks and safely applying Vengeance without taking unmanageable chip damage.

When facing high magic burst or heavy crowd control

Build Oracle earlier, right after Endless Battle or Brute Force Breastplate, instead of waiting for late game. The amplified HP Regen passive boosts the healing from Vengeance, while the additional Magic Defense and Control Duration Reduction from Brute Force Breastplate help Arlott survive enemy mage combos and heavy lock downs.

When the enemy team builds heavy armor early

Rush Malefic Roar before Blade of Despair to bypass high Physical Defense on enemy tanks and fighters. This ensures Vengeance and Final Slash maintain high damage output against tanky targets, keeping Arlott's execute potential strong during mid-game fights around map objectives like the Turtle.
